Why a $599 microtonal guitar isn't a compromise
The KG-2 uses the same fretting layout as our $799 KG β Turkish 24-tone equal temperament β built by the same luthiers in Istanbul. The cost reduction comes from a laminated top (vs. solid spruce on the KG) and standard-grade rosewood on the back and sides. For practice and learning, the tonal difference is minor. For concert recording or large-room projection, step up.

Is the fretting accurate enough to learn properly?
Yes β the fret slot machining is identical to our higher models. The 24-tone equal temperament intervals are precise. What changes at higher price points is tonal quality and resonance, not pitch accuracy.
How long until I outgrow this guitar?
Most students play the KG-2 for 1β3 years before upgrading. If you're playing daily and recording or performing publicly, you may want to upgrade in 6β12 months β the KG's solid top makes a noticeable recording difference.
Can I add a pickup to the KG-2 later?
Yes β a soundhole pickup can be installed by any local luthier. For built-in piezo + EQ from the factory, the KG-5 ($1,499) is the dedicated electric model.
What case does it come with?
