Shipping & Delivery

Every instrument we ship is inspected, tuned (where applicable), and packed by our team before it leaves our workshop. We ship worldwide from two locations: our workshop in Istanbul, Türkiye and our showroom in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Shipping Options

Free Economy Shipping — Worldwide Free on all orders, no minimum. Estimated delivery time: 2–5 weeks depending on destination.

Express Shipping — DHL / FedEx / UPS Estimated delivery time: 2–5 business days worldwide. Express shipping cost is shown on the product page and at checkout. Express delivery is available for most products; availability depends on the item and destination.

Processing Time

Orders are typically prepared and shipped within 1–3 business days. Handmade and made-to-order instruments may require additional preparation time — if so, this is stated on the product page or we will contact you by email.

Where Your Order Ships From

Depending on the instrument and current stock, your order ships from our Istanbul workshop or our Los Angeles showroom.

US customers: about 90% of US orders ship directly from our Los Angeles location — delivered fast, with no customs procedures or import fees. Some special or made-to-order instruments may ship from our Istanbul workshop when they are not in stock in the US; in that case, see the Customs & Import Duties section below.

International orders from Istanbul: see the Customs & Import Duties section below.

In both cases, every instrument is checked and packed by our team before shipment.

Packaging & Insurance

Instruments are packed in custom-fitted, double-walled boxes with foam-cushioned interiors. Fragile instruments such as ouds, kanuns, and santoors are shipped in reinforced packaging designed for each instrument type. All express shipments are fully insured against loss and transit damage. 

Tracking

You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships. Express shipments (DHL, FedEx, UPS) can be tracked door-to-door. If you have not received tracking information within 3 business days of your order, contact us at info@salamuzik.com.

Customs & Import Duties

Orders shipped internationally may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or brokerage fees depending on your country. These charges are set by your local customs authority and are the responsibility of the customer. They are not included in our prices or shipping fees.

If you are unsure about your country's import charges for musical instruments, contact us before ordering — we ship to 100+ countries and can usually tell you what to expect.

Damaged in Transit?

Despite careful packaging, transit damage can rarely occur. If your instrument arrives damaged, contact us within 10 days of delivery at info@salamuzik.com with your order number, photos of the product and packaging, and a short video if possible. We will resolve it with a replacement, repair solution, or refund according to our Returns Policy.
