Turkish Electric Oud AOS-108G

The AOS-108G is a Turkish electric oud made for players who want to practise without disturbing the people around them. When it is unplugged, you hear little more than the faint sound of the strings themselves. This makes it a practical choice for late-night sessions, apartment living, hotel rooms or backstage practice.

Connect it to an amplifier, mixer or audio interface when you want to hear the full electric sound. The built-in Fishman equalizer lets you adjust the output for practice, recording and live performance.

The oud has a walnut body, mechanical tuning pegs and a 58.5 cm bridge-to-nut length. It is set up as a Turkish oud, but you can also use Arabic tuning by fitting a compatible Arabic oud string set. Make sure the strings are suitable for the instrument's 58.5 cm scale length and your preferred tuning.

Questions players often ask

Is it completely silent when unplugged?
Not completely. You can hear a very faint sound from the strings, but it is much quieter than an acoustic oud. For the full sound, connect it to suitable amplification equipment.

Can I practise without an amplifier?
Yes. You can practise fingering, picking and technique without an amplifier, making it useful when you need to keep the volume very low.

Can I use it on stage or for recording?
Yes. Connect the oud to a suitable amplifier, mixer or audio interface and adjust the output with the Fishman equalizer.

Is this a Turkish or Arabic oud?
It is a Turkish electric oud with a 58.5 cm bridge-to-nut length. If you prefer Arabic tuning, you can install a compatible Arabic oud string set and tune the instrument accordingly.
