Persian Ney By Master Saidi

When the history of Ney is researched, it appears to be one of the oldest known wind instruments. The oldest examples of musical instruments made of cane were found during excavations in Mesopotamia. Ney Flute.

The oldest finding of persian ney instrument, which is believed to have been used in the Sumerian society since 5000 BC, is what remains on display at the University of Philadelphia Museum in America today, dating back to 3000-2800 BC. It is believed that the instrument was also used in religious ceremonies at that time.

Today, persian ney is referred to as Turkish instrument and has become a symbol of Sufi music. Instead of playing used for a musical instrument, the term blow for Persian Ney is used. Blowing here has a figurative meaning. It takes its source from the fact that Allah has blown the human spirit while creating man in Islam. Another factor that enables it to be affected by this metaphor is; "Tü" while playing the flute, "Fü" sounds for the side flute, such as "Hû" sound from the mouth while blowing. Hû means "O" in Sufism.

This Persian Ney instrument, which is used in many fields such as religious voices and hymns, is now frequently taking place in many types of music.

The big part that makes up Persian Ney is the body. There are holes on the body where notes and sounds are printed. In addition, there are knuckles that most people have noticed. There are holes on the back and front surfaces of the body, especially the hole on the back surface can be opened slightly to the left or right from the middle area and the performance can be made more efficient. There are generally 6 holes on the front surface. There is a buffalo horn called a "başpare" positioned in the first knuckle of Persian Ney and a section made of various trees. The last piece, called Parazvane, is located in the third node of what. This ferrule can be produced from many metal types, especially brass and silver.

It can be grown mainly in the Southeastern Anatolia region in Turkey, and Mediterranean and Aegean regions.
