The curved back part consists of 19 or 21 boards in the form of a circle. The body is not complete. While there is a large cavity in the middle of the anterior part called the chest, there are two small hollows called "rose" on the sides.

The oud has six double strings, and a plectrum is used for playing. The front part of the Egyptian oud is made of spruce wood. When the Egyptian oud sound is associated with the Syrian oud sound, the Syrian oud sound has a more difficult tone. Egyptian oud has a pear-like appearance compared to other oud types and is more ornate than different types. Another reason why the ouds differ from each other is the length of the string.
