סנטור הוא כלי שמקורו בעיראק, באיראן ובאיראן. הודו. הסנטור הקלאסי יש 72 - 160 חוטים אבל הסנאט הפרסי הוא בערך 90 ס"מ רחב בקצה הרחב שלו, 36 ס"מ רחב בקצה הצר ו -6 ס"מ עמוק. חוטים אלה משחקים עם plectrum קטן (zahme) עשוי מעץ.יש גם סוגים דמויי פסנתר של סנטואור הנקרא "Cimbalom" בדרך זו, גם כלי נגינה וכלי percussion נקראים טבלופונים.
סנטור שיחק עם ספקטרום או zahme. האדם שמנגן סנטואור נקרא. santurzen or santuri זה גם כלי מיתרים וכבדות.בדרך כלל יש 9 גשר מכיוון שהצליל מבוסס על ההערה השמאלית, המפתח השמאלי מבוסס (מספר הסף עשוי להגדיל או לרדת בהתאם לטונים). פלדה, ברונזה ופליז הם משמשים (מוחות וחוטי ברונזה משמשים לקולות בס) ארבעה מיתרים ממוקמים על כל גשר. 72 ו-160 חוטים 72 מיתרים נקראים לסמל 72 מדינות עץ האגוז נאמר שיש לו את הצליל הטוב ביותר בדוכס (Arkadavan Kamkar גם אמר כי הוא עשוי עץ אגוזי יאז).
לסנטור יש היסטוריה של בערך 3,500 שנה, לחלק מהמילה "Psanterin" שהוזכרה בתורה, נעשה שימוש בשינויים קטנים במצרים, באירופה ובאיראן.
סנטור פרסי הוא כלי חשוב מוסיקה Sufi המאסטרים של המוזיקה הפרסית הקלאסית משתמשים בסנסטור ההסטואור.

כיצד לתקן סנטור פרסי
המיתרים נקבעים ל-fch-pins לצד שמאל ופצועים סביב מתכת wrest-pins בצד ימין באמצעות אשר הם מכוונן עם צעצוע.
כל קבוצה של מיתרים מונחת על גשר מסובך של עץ קשיח.הגשרים ממוקמים כך שהחוטים מחולקים לשלושה חלקים, נותן את הפתק הבסיסי ושני octaves גבוהים יותר.
יש תשע (או לפעמים 10, 11 ו-12) מיתרים חד-צדדיים, כך שעם 18 קבוצות של מיתרים, ניתן לשחק 27 הערות שונות.ניתן לנגן על מיתרי הבס הם של פליז או נחושת וטרפרים של פלדה.

I am drawn to this instrument. It truly the best of all instrument. Strings, percussion. Magical with 9 bridges and 72 strings. I believe it is tuned to the American D Phyrgian mode which is basically Bb. D,F,G,A,Bb,C,D,Eb F. The sounds are hauntingly beautiful. Peace to All, Everywhere!!!

I know nothing about tuning a Santour, however this Instrument is the Father Of The Piano (Personal Communication Minister of dept. of Art, Music, Culture, Tourism)!! He himself, was a Flautist Supreme! The chief reason for designing Pianos was to make playing this instrument practical for more people to play. The Santour was so complicated to play that only an extremely few knew how to play it 😊. That is because one must strike the strings for each note within a Small Fraction of a millimeter!! So they placed it within a Very Large Box, we call a Piano😊. The Piano keys were given Sharp and Flat notes. You see, there are only a few who can play a Santour, and they are “A Tesla of Music”. I hope I did not disappoint you 😊.
Hello, I have just purchased a Santoor Sadegji 72 string, I am trying to understand how to tune it. I understand the Steel Strings -1st D 2nd F 3rd G 4th A 5th A# 6th C 7th D 8th D# 9th F. Is the tuning for the brass string the same D F G A A# C D D# F, is this correct? I am loving the instrument. Thank you, Chaz
