Even it’s not the same color on the picture, but looks nice and I love it so far good quality and good sound thank you.
It is my first Baglama. I looked for something simple but quality to start learning and I'm so happy that I found Sala Muzik. I asked a few questions in email about the instrument and shipping, they answered very quickly and supportively. The Baglama arrived in perfect condition, its packing indeed was very careful. Believe me, if the instrument survived the Russian post, then the guys DO know how to protect their products :-) Oh, and I should say that the delivery was unexpectedly fast
The quality is also 5 stars - I am no expert, but even in my untrained hands the Baglama already sounds great. As far as I understand it arrived tuned, though I changed the default tuning to match my online courses. As the description states, the instrument comes with 2 plectrums, one set of additional strings and a soft case. I expected the case to be thinner and cheaper, but it looks pretty nice - it is a fine case for a beginner to carry a Baglama around.
If you are a beginner just like me, make sure to learn the right body and wrist positions in the first place - a Baglama might be a bit of a challenge for a person accustomed to western instruments, but it is managable. The sound is worth it anyway.
There are not so many trustworthy music shops, especially online, so I want to thank Sala Muzik for being professionals! I'll definitely order from you again when the time comes!
I love it!
I have many instruments. Including five unplayable bagpipes (reed issues) and four button accordions. I have two fiddles, one a hardanger fiddle, for which I paid a pretty penny.I like them all, but I LOVE my saz. It arrived intact because of the genius packaging. Turkish craftsmanship is top flight. No detail is left undone. It's as if they really care. I think they do.In America, anything less than 300 bucks is plywood. But my Turkish saz has a walnut soundbowl, spruce top and mahogany neck. The satin finish isn't as slippery as a high sheen, which is helpful to the newby who is trying to play it. The saz is a bitch to hold. The inlayed interval markings should've been put on the left side of the neck, where the player could see them. Nevermind. I've put masking tape markers to facilitate playing positions.I'm astounded by the sound of this instrument. The soundboard is unbroken by a soundhole, but one is provided which exits at the ass end of the instrument. A second soundhole faces the player; swivel the gate to enhance the bass. A piezo pickup is glued underneath the bridge. I plugged in an amp and shredded Pulp Fiction. The string length is long and easy on the fingertips. The tuning is AGD. It seems counterintuitive until you do Greek, Italian and Turkish songs. The 90° positioning of the tuning pegs is so you can lay the neck on a flat surface and press down while tuning. These are friction tuners. (Imagine the hell of tuning this instrument if the pegs were opposed, as with a violin)A curiousity is the cursive scrollwork on the soundhole. Is the first letter a "d" or an "o"? An "o" makes more sense, since blending the vowels of OEST would make "West". So I am your target audience. This may be an "entry" level instrument, but for a guy my age I won't need any other.
Medium quality
My instrument arrived very quickly and nicely packaged. It sounds even better than I thought!
Firstly, this Saz is beautiful....love the matte finish. Secondly....wow!!!....we ordered it on May 20th....and it was at our door on May 23rd....from Istanbul!! Order from Sala Music with confidence.
The company replaced this long neck baglama for me with a short neck baglama. It was my mistake that I ordered the wrong instrument, but they kindly allowed me to return it. The new short-neck baglama is just exactly what I wanted. It is a very good quality instrument for the money (as was the long-neck version). And I enjoyed doing business with Sala Muzik as they went out of their way to make sure I got what I wanted and in a timely fashion. I appreciate them very much.
It is a very nice acoustic-electric baglama. Arrived well packed in a case which was packed inside 2 boxes. There was a little delay during tranzit because of some customs that I had to do (not Sala's fault) and they have e-mailed me to ask if everything is alright which I really appreciate. Very good service. A little bit of wear on the upper string but that's no issue because they have included one set of strings and 2 plectrums and this is pretty nice because I'm still trying to find my favourite tunning so I expect to break some strings :)). The sound is very good and the pegs are very well made, the instrument has a hole and a lid that can be opened or closed based on how strong the sound you want it to be.
Very nice saz, amazing sound. Only thing was the neck didn't have the flower decoration but they let me know beforehand so it wasn't a problem.
Seem like a great instrument to start with!
Really happy with my purchase, everything came well packed.
Minor cosmetic wears on the instrument/strings seems a bit used + the zipper on the softcase is bended a bit, but I can't complain at all, great price and shipping!
Just to mention not to be surprised that you might be asked to pay some import fees if you order from another country (around 30$ from Canada in my case).
Thanks a lot, I'm eager to learn more about this beautiful instrument!
It is my first baglama, very happy with that, it comes fast and was perfectly packed. A good sound and very good one for begginer who is trying to learn new instruments.
I'm really happy , I received it today in perfect state within a top quality package, a double cardboard box, It took only 10 days to France. Thank you Sala Muzik for your professionalism !!
It is a good instrument with a satin finish. The sellers were very responsive with very fast shipping. Came in a few days. It is a great instrument for all levels of players.
Such a beautiful instrument, I played for several hours after opening the package the Saz was in. Thank you Sala Muzik!!
I've been interested in middle eastern music lately and came across turkish saz music on Youtube. I play guitar but this music requires instruments that can play quarter tones. The frets in the saz are spaced to accommodate those. I took the plunge and ordered this instrument, a long neck version. It took over a month to get here from Istanbul, mostly being delayed at NJ customs. Packaging was excellent. It's a well built instrument, all solid wood (no ply). Saz/baglamas are popular folk instruments and tend to be spartan, as this one is, in the sense that a basic Martin guitar is spartan. The neck is a single piece of hardwood for both neck and fingerboard, and there is no decorative ornamentation. The sound board is solid spruce. Overall it's quite nice looking, particularly the mahogany bowl. The build is professional and well finished. The wooden pegs work well and are easy to tune. Extra set of strings, two picks, and thin gig bag included.Salamusik also has good instructions on their site on how to tune - great responsive people as well.I'll be having fun learning how to play.Highly recommended.
Merci.
